EXCEPTIONAL DECORATION - Benoit Furet

In this relatively humble method of decoration, I have found a true joy by having the infinity of the possibilities for modern creation that it offers.
During the workshop, we will study the style of the 14th century from certain manuscripts which allows us to recreate millions of patterns. Besides that, I will introduce a number of initials from the Middle Ages intended to be highlighted by this type of decoration.
The workshop is open to everyone. It is not necessary to already have experience in calligraphy or illumination.

FROM JAZZ TO BLACK HOLE - James Fazz Farrell 

I have developed a new modern style inspired by nature and the cosmos, based on the historical Spencerian into an exciting new pointed pen “look”. I think it is important to try to push the boundaries of the art that you are involved in, to try new ways of doing things and to look at lettering in a slightly different way. I am looking forward to having a very creative journey with you during this 3-day workshop!

COLOUR, CIRCLES AND MEDITATION - Loredana Zega

In calligraphy, we always struggle by choosing the right colours and this is a great opportunity to make a step in this direction. We will search for the right colours by mixing many colour possibilities, from very vivid to pastel ones in order to incorporate them into the final piece(s) – the circles. I chose the circles as this workshop will be also finding your Here and Now as it is best described by Thich Nhat Hanh: I’ve been running all my life and I’ve arrived nowhere (circles). My destination is the here and now, the only time and place where true life is possible.
